PayPal on Advantage Web
Advantage Web has an option to enable PayPal to use as a payment method for purchases online. You must have a Business or Premier PayPal account with a confirmed email address in order to use this feature. The following outlines how to set up PayPal on Advantage Web.
- Ask Support to give you access to Payment Settings in your webstore.
- They will send you an email with a link to make edits to these settings.
- Check your email account for a message from autodev with the subject "You got access for editing settings".
- Click the link inside the message.
- This will redirect to your webstore into an editable version of Payment Settings.
- Click PayPal under the Payment Settings heading.
- Select Enable.
- In another browser tab, navigate to developer.paypal.com
- In this part of the process you will be copying the information you need to fill in to the fields in Payment Settings including the Client Id and the Client Secret.
- Click Log into Dashboard.
- Log in with your PayPal administrator account information.
- On the My Apps & Credentials page (this is the default dashboard page), scroll down to REST API apps.
- If the account already has an app with a Client Id and a Client Secret, click the App Name and skip to step 14.
- If not, click Create App.
- Enter an App Name.
- Click Create App.
- Select Sandbox or Live mode.
- Sandbox is for testing purposes and Live takes actual payments. Sandbox and Live mode each have their own Client ID and Secret. You can toggle between the two modes by clicking the mode name at the upper right of the screen.

- To view the Secret, click Show.
- The Client Id will be visible already.
- Copy and paste both the Client Id and the Secret into their respective fields in your webstore's Payment Settings page.

Select Sandbox or Live for the Mode, depending on whether you want to take live payments.
Remember, Sandbox and Live modes have different Client Ids and Secrets, so make sure you copied the correct ones for the Mode you are using.
- Click Save.
- Confirm all changes are complete by clicking Yes.
When checking out, users will now have the option to select PayPal as their payment method.
Customers will be redirected to PayPal after clicking Place Order, where they will log in and complete the transaction.
