Although adding a POS to your business can have many benefits, the key to the system is cash control. Cash Control comes in many forms, i.e. deposit calculations on cash tills, detailed reporting on cashier activities, security controls on POS actions, and descrepency documentation on expected revenue versus actual. However, if you are like me, I'd prefer to not have to catch someone being dishonest, and would rather deter them from the possibility.
Please join us at the WWA convention on October 3rd and 4th, in booth #1108 as we present our Waterpark Management Software.
Have you considered purchasing a debit card system, but haven't pulled the trigger yet? What's stopping you?
As a final installment based around my blog, "How Long Will It Take to Pay for a FEC POS", I am going to discuss means to use the point of sale for revenue generation. As with any decent POS program, you have the ability to customize pricing and packages to meet your price list. However have you ever thought of:
As a continuation of my blog, "How Long Will It Take to Pay for a FEC POS Software?", I'm going to focus on how having the right point of sale for your family entertainment center, waterpark or similar locations, will assist in decreasing your labor expense. There really is no better means to control your labor than a good employee scheduling software. However I could spend an entire blog on employee scheduling alone, so I am going to concentrate on the more obscure ways a POS can assist in labor savings.
In one of my recent blogs regarding the calculation of the ROI for a FEC point of sale system, I mentioned "management labor reduction" as an area of improvement. In retrospect, I think improved management efficiency would have been more appropriate, although labor reduction can be assumed as well.
In my previous blog, where I highlighted our new ROI Calculator, I identified 4 areas that a complete FEC POS could assist with in increasing your bottom line. Of the 4, I'm going to discuss loss prevention in this blog.
Certainly the most frequently asked question of us is not "how long will it take to pay for the software?", but rather "how much does a system cost?". I can completely understand and appreciate the mentality when there are so many POS software sales people out there pushing their "low monthly fee", without highlighting their features (or lack thereof). If cost and a spiel from a slick salesman are NOT the most important factors in your evaluation of point of sale software, we have created a calculator just for you! I'm not saying cost shouldn't be a factor...it most certainly should be a major factor. However, if you can find a system that can assist in increasing your bottom line; through expense savings and revenue generation; then why pay the "low" monthly fee for something that is no better than a cash register?
